Chief Scare by Xerographer Fonts is a free eroded horror display font with tall, compressed capitals and a stark cutout silhouette. Its uneven edges, pinched joins, and shifting stroke widths make the letters look roughly hacked from paper or wood, with enough variation to avoid a mechanical distressed effect.
Classic monster and slasher themes suit its blunt menace. It can turn film posters, haunted-house event graphics, game title cards, and Halloween merchandise into part of the scenery, especially when the lettering resembles a hand-cut warning sign from a low-budget horror production.
