Circus::Circus by Michael Johnson of FontStruct is a free outlined circus display font built from chains of overlapping rings. The repeated circles turn each letter into a loose, bubbly framework, with uneven clusters around bends and joins. It looks lively and handmade.
Children's entertainment and experimental music posters draw different qualities from this construction, one suggesting bubbles and the other recalling loops of stage lights. Merchandise and sweet packaging also benefit from the doodled forms, and across these settings the lettering stays closely tied to spectacle and playful visual tricks.
