Eileen Caps by D. Rakowski of Typographer Mediengestaltung is a free Gothic floral initials font inspired by illuminated lettering. Thick curved strokes enclose curling vines, leaf shapes, and small flourishes. Each initial reads like a miniature ornament.
Gothic and medieval themes suit fantasy publishing, historical events, and role-playing games. The woven decoration can make invitations resemble engraved manuscript pages. On specialty packaging, an initial can become a decorative crest for the product.
