Gratis is a free filmstrip-inspired sans serif with towering, extremely heavy capitals and a distinctly cinematic profile. The broad black strokes frame slim rectangular openings, and many outer corners soften into compact curves instead of ending sharply. Rows of tiny perforations provide its unmistakable detail.

Independent cinemas, production studios, and retro media brands could use it for posters, event signage, and merchandise because the lettering already suggests a physical strip of celluloid. In editorial features or festival graphics, those repeated sprocket holes can echo film frames, contact sheets, and photographic borders, turning the words into part of the screen-era imagery.
