MaiersNr8-Bold 字体

MaiersNr8 Bold, designed by Ingo Zimmermann and Karl O. Maier of ingoFont Augsburg, is a free eroded display font with blunt, hand-cut forms. Its letters are tall and weighty, with uneven edges and scattered nicks that resemble worn paint. Narrow and broad shapes alternate across the alphabet.

Posters are its strongest medium for underground music, streetwear, and event graphics. The battered lettering can become part of the artwork itself, functioning like a roughly painted sign rather than neutral typography.

This script, dating from around 1900, appears in a magazine from the Otto Maier publishing house in Ravensburg, published sometime in the years shortly before the First World War. The magazine is titled Schriften-Sammlung für Techniker: Verkleinerte Schriften der wichtigsten Alphabete (Collection of Scripts for Technical Specialists: Reduced Scripts of the Most Significant Alphabets) and was published by Karl O. Maier.

The original copy, produced using a galvanized plate, is only 7 centimeters wide. The characters were scanned, digitized, and greatly enlarged.

All fonts at ingoFonts can be downloaded free of charge. The downloadable files contain only a reduced font consisting of uppercase and lowercase letters from A to Z and a to z. The complete font, including numerals, umlauts, punctuation, and ligatures, is available only with an order and payment.
