Max and The Dust by Paulo R. is a free handwritten font with tall, narrow letters and a loose monoline stroke. Rounded bends and uneven shapes give the lettering a wiry, homemade character.

Children's book covers are its strongest setting, since the spindly proportions and playful changes in width suit stories built around oddball characters and hand-drawn worlds. The same awkward charm also belongs on indie music posters, craft packaging, and small local event graphics, where the letters can become part of a sketchy illustration rather than merely labeling it.
