Moonlight Shadow by David Kerkhoff is a free calligraphic script with an exuberant, visibly unruly, ink-soaked edge. Its sharply changing stroke widths, sprawling loops, long threadlike extensions, abrupt hooks, and scattered splatters make the lettering look immediate, fast, theatrical, and deliberately rough.
It can give music posters and album artwork the sweep of a stage signature, yet its ornamental tangles also suit darkly romantic wedding invitations. For independent boutique labels and artist branding, the recurring curls can become part of a distinctive emblem rather than serving as neutral text, especially when an expressive, hand-inked identity is central to the product.
