Shanty Hand by Skyhaven is a free handwritten font with unusually tall, narrow letters and a fine, wavering line. The forms stretch upward in uneven peaks, with broad loops interrupting the otherwise spare construction. The writing looks quick and deliberately uncorrected.
Loose line drawings and sketchbook illustrations echo its thin, wandering strokes, making it useful for magazine covers, music posters, and personal stationery. On cafe packaging or event invitations, the lanky lettering can suggest a note written directly onto the surface. The recurring peaks and loose loops are especially apt for imagery built around thread, wire, or simple ink contours.
