Simple S from Straus is a free digital display font with the spare look of an early electronic sign. Widely spaced square marks trace tall, skeletal letters, leaving unusually broad openings and abrupt breaks. The forms feel light rather than dense.
The dot pattern directly echoes LED panels and low-resolution game graphics. That connection suits arcade-themed posters, game menus, electronic music artwork, and technology event branding. In illustrated work, the lettering can become part of a screen, scoreboard, or control-panel graphic instead of reading as ordinary display type.
