TeX Gyre Bonum from URW++ Design & Development is a free high-contrast serif with broad proportions. Rounded curves, bracketed serifs, and strong shifts between thick and thin strokes give the lettering a formal but animated texture. The shapes are substantial rather than delicate.
Publishers and cultural organizations will find it suited to book covers and exhibition graphics, since its classical structure supports serious material without feeling stiff. That same mix makes a useful basis for identity work in education and the arts. Event posters and museum programs draw on the same blend of authority and open, expressive curves.
