Thames Condensed, by Rubicon Computer Labs, is a free high-contrast serif from 1995 with a crisp, literary tone. The letters pair fine hairlines with heavier main strokes and a few soft, teardrop-like details, giving the font a refined newspaper-and-novel flavor rather than a blunt modernist one.
