webPixel, designed by Manuel Viergutz, is a free pixel font with tall, forceful lettering and the stark economy of an early screen display. Its square forms alternate broad uprights with unusually open joins.
Technology and retro computing are the clearest themes for this design, making it useful for game title cards, event posters, and electronic music graphics with an assertive digital texture. On interface-themed merchandise, the broken inner strokes and severe rectangular shapes can become part of the screen imagery rather than functioning as ordinary lettering.
