Wiegel Kurrent by Peter Wiegel is a free pointed-pen calligraphy font with steeply slanted, connected letters. Strong changes in stroke width give the writing a formal, lively sweep. Long loops are its clearest feature.
Its elegant flourishes can lend ceremony to wedding invitations, yet they also suit labels for traditional food or drink packaging. In publishing, the flowing script can introduce historical fiction or family-history material with the look of careful handwritten correspondence. That same old-world penmanship makes it especially apt for period drama, genealogy, and archival themes.
